Okay, there were no "guides" on how to measure for the size of the jar, so I did this to fill that vase in the photo. I used a heaping teaspoon of LEVEL balls and 8 cups of DISTILLED water. I let them sit for 12 hours and they would start drinking as soon as they got wet. The beads start out very small and grow to about the size of a large bean or 12mm bead. They are perfectly transparent and plush. I placed them in an 8" H x 3" W vase. I have a few left, you can see them in the little jar next to the vase. I think measuring helps people trying to estimate how many packs to buy to make party decorations or large jars. I really just wanted to center my lucky bamboo in this jar and it does a great job. They're not as hard as styrofoam or anything like that, but they hold up that sturdy stem. I think you can use these water balloons for many things. I put the excess in a small Ziploc in the fridge for a cold compress. Great little product!
