Friendly to newbies. for Air Conditioning Tools and Equipment

So adding refrigerant 134a to a closed system with no suction port is as easy as it gets. Make sure the correct hose OD adapters are selected (3 options included). Pick the straight part of the line, not the bend. I decided to use Scotch Brite to clean residue/corrosion on the suction line where I place the poppet valve. Make sure the piercing pin is fully retracted before clamping the suction line. Now turn the Allen key fully clockwise and insert the puncture needle into the suction line. Screw the refrigerant bottle 134a onto the end of the charge hose, making sure the valve is fully retracted. Now open the poppet valve in the suction line and you should see the pressure gauge move showing the current boost pressure in the system. When the system is running and the refrigerant level is low, the gauge should be in vacuum, indicating a low charge. In this case, open the valve at the end of the filling hose and start adding 134a. Do this in short bursts of a few seconds. Some glasses will ask you to rotate the glass between 12 and 3 o'clock during filling. Do this until you see the manufacturer's recommended load. For some domestic refrigerators, this can be as little as a few pounds. When you are finished inflating, pull out the poppet valve screw fully (clockwise), then remove the inflating hose from the poppet valve and replace its hole with the included cap. System. So if that's the case for you, you'll either need to find the leak and fix it, or keep adding 134a when the system gets weak. It doesn't fix other issues that can cause no cooling, such as: a faulty compressor, fans, discharge valves, etc. - The poppet valve becomes an integral part of the suction line as it cannot be removed without releasing the refrigerant. Spray some leak detector on the poppet valve to make sure there are no leaks.
