Pros: I don't have to be as careful with this as I am with my (late) mercury thermometer. Very fast response in liquids, about 10 seconds to stabilize the reading. Accurate, ice bath: 32.0F, boiling pasta water: 212.0F. Better than I expected from the specs. Cons: The tip is almost too sensitive. Don't let it come into contact with the container unless you want to know the temperature of the container! I have this to measure the temperature of rain gauges in the sun. A 12" stem was required. The swivel head is good but causes some balance issues when you want the display to face up. Perhaps having the display on the top of the head would have been better than the front. What to work with.
