I live in a state that uses a strong saline solution on the roads during the winter to keep ice and snow off the roads. For the first few years of owning my Lear cap on my pickup truck, the salt corroded the locks to the point where you couldn't get the key in the locks. I changed them at the dealer. I bought Lear and paid $50 for the kit. For the past few years I've used duct tape to cover locks. This worked to a point, but failed to lock my clam until spring. These locks appear to be much stronger, easy to install, and a savings of nearly $20. Have to see how they overwinter. I'll probably stick it on to be safe. Luckily I live in an area with little or no crime.
