Review on ⭐️ Starrett 70BX Pocket Scriber – Carbide Point, 2-7/8" Length, 3/8" Diameter Handle by Gregory Castellanos

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Typical Starrett quality tool

This scriber is typical "Starrett" quality. It's amazing how they got the tungsten carbide tip to such a sharp "needle point". I mean the one I got is literally as sharp as any needle I've ever seen. However, he still seems strong enough. I did amazing work on both aluminum and stainless steel and the fine needle was not damaged. My only issue with this marker is the force required to turn the knurled "chuck" to keep the nib locked. Once I've tightened the chuck just enough to keep the tip from falling out, it's often very difficult to loosen. . I think over time and with some use things will wear down and smooth out enough that they don't. Just be aware that since you're trying to clamp something as hard as tungsten carbide, it seems like it takes a lot of torque to tighten/loosen the chuck to keep the tip from falling out. All in all, I am satisfied with the quality of this pen and would buy it again given the workmanship from Starrett.
