I bought this starter for my 1994 F-350 diesel. It fit well and was easier to install than removing the old one. That's because this starter is shorter than stock, making it a lot easier to get to that pesky top bolt. The first thing I noticed was that this starter is very different from the original. So much so that I thought it was wrong. Once installed it starts the engine much faster than the original and my truck starts almost immediately! In general I am very satisfied. Cons: It makes a terrible noise. I'm glad I read the reviews first because they sound like they're ripping the guts out of my cute little truck! But I'm happy to accept that if my truck continues to run so well. Another thing is that the connections have been moved to the bottom of the starter. This makes access easier, but you'll have to bend the connectors to fit. It's not difficult, but when I installed the battery cable, it touched the starter housing. When I reconnected the wires to the battery, there was a short through the insulation. I removed it immediately so there would be no damage. I moved the cord and put a piece of high temp water hose over it and zipped it up. Please note this during installation! I'll try to remember to update this in a year or so to see how it holds up.
