I'm always hesitant to buy refurbished products. I had had several bad experiences and ended up deciding never to buy them again. With this modem I figured I'd play around and see what I could do. It is very easy to set up and activate and I really enjoyed the Nighthawk app. For the next 24 hours it seemed to work, but while streaming I accidentally disconnected and quit Xfinity. The next morning I tried changing the settings and restarting my computer and it was driving me crazy. I'm fairly tech savvy and I felt confident I could fix this. I was so frustrated and disappointed with how much time and effort I had just wasted, so I figured the extra expense of a new device was totally worth it. The thing is, my bad experience with this refurbished device is that I almost never bought the same one despite so many people saying so many good things about it. I'M SO GLAD I BOUGHT BRAND NEW! Everything worked clearly and without failures. The app is great to have. Speed and distance are very good. I will never buy refurbished electronics again. If you value your time, buy a new modem.
