Review on ๐Ÿงต ECHEN 1 Inch PLA Filament by Steve Brethorst

Beautiful glow-in-the-dark filament

I have the green one. This worked fine for me. I uploaded some photos of a near life size skull printed with filament on my Ender 3. The 20mm test cube is shown to scale. The test cube was the first print and then the skull. I printed it with no slicer adjustments to accommodate the filament other than adding edges. The filament seems to have a slight adhesion issue and I had a few adhesion issues printing the skull until I added the borders. I was impatient as I was dying to see the skull glow and show it to my kids so I skipped all other performance tests with the filament apart from the 20mm cube - looking back I'm sure the pressure would have been better if I had done the tests. Still, the pressure, while not perfect, is pretty good. - Bugs are minor and will most likely be fixed with a few tweaks in the slicer. Under normal lighting, it is a clear milky white color with a slight green tinge. You can see this in the image of the bottom of my test cube, where you can clearly see the fill structure through the bottom. I printed the skull and cube with ender nozzle/bed at 200/50 degrees. Kura was a blunder. No supports other than the edges. The edge of the cube was not needed, but the bottom was deformed. It took 21 hours to print the skull. In general, I am satisfied with the work of the thread. It was very well packed, well spooled and well served - no problem. The nitpick for me is the glow; while okay, I have a feeling it could be better. But still good value for money so I'll leave it at 5 stars and won't penalize it for its brightness.

Pros
  • DIMENSIONAL ACCURACY: 1.75mm diameter filament, within 30 microns of diameter variation for smooth feed and better 3D prints.
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
