The door level looks great. It has a nice matte black finish and clean geometry. The build quality seems good with heavy hardware. The only odd thing with the material is why the turning lock is plastic - seemed odd given everything else is metal.Now the install, it was a pain! We tried this in 2 different doors in 2 different apartments so we know this is a non-standard install. If you are replacing existing hardware, then expect to do some work.We've swapped out door knobs several times before and it has always been fairly simple. We've used Schlage, Kwikset, Arrow and other brands. It usually involves just popping the old hardware out and putting in the new one without having to do any modifications to the door.This one had a larger than usual cam, so we had to adjust the cam hole on the door. Once we got the cam in, we find out that the latch plate is larger than norm. This required a router to countersink which we don't have. This caused a problem with the shank not having enough space to have the 2 sides of the knobs to come together. We wound up using a drill to carve out a portion of the door knob bore hole to fit the shank.In the end, we got it to fit and work. It looks nice but I'd be prepared to do some extra work. Also consider that when switching back to other standard knobs that the adjustments made for this may cause the standard cam and knob to be a looser fit than normal.
