Review on 🔒 Bully LH-003WD Rear Trunk Tailgate Lock Door Handle: OE Factory Replacement for 1999-2006 GM Trucks by Donald Blanco

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Zero stars for trunk locks

Very complicated installation. Poor design, which is odd as the quality (apart from the bezel - more on that later) doesn't seem that bad. The bolt intended for installation did not fit in the latch hole. I was finally able to get it to catch after over half an hour of unnecessary effort. The design seems to depend on a precarious balance between the bars and the rounded ends of the latch. The instructions here don't help at all, which is unfortunately to be expected these days. I finally leveled it after a lot more needless effort and I think I got lucky. After that it worked several times, although the key turns very hard and has to break at the end. Then he stopped working. We were on vacation so I couldn't fix it until we got home and endangered our belongings. I spent a lot more unnecessary work (let's say to make a decent product that actually works) aligning all the parts, liberally lubricating, cleaning the trunk lid several times over the next week, etc. Now for the bezel. The bezel does not appear to be as advertised for the 2005 Silverado. The tabs are not positioned correctly (they are too close together) to fit into the notches in the tailgate metal. Keeps falling. I spent more time this evening (obviously necessary as there is no other way to use this inferior product) filing the notches to get them stuck on the back of the tailgate trim. I have my doubts this will last, but after reading other reviews about the return shipping fees (how it deservedly got so many five star reviews is a real mystery) I'll take my $15 and learn from it. My goal now is just to warn others to use that "latch" until the next failure, which is likely to happen soon, then find one that actually works, and avoid that brand in the future.
