Review on πŸ” Top-Rated Bestop 9000615 Black Denim Duster Deck Cover for Suzuki Samurai by Justin Olson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Looks good but has issues

This cover was a bit difficult to put on the first time because it is snug but after being in the car for a while it is easy to put on and take off. . I suspect the tight fit is to prevent rainwater from pooling in the center of the lid, but unfortunately it happens. To be fair to Bestop, this car came from the factory with a rear seat which, according to Bestop's instructions, needs to be folded down prior to fitting. My guess is that the back of the seat (rear seat) acts as a support for the trunk and allows the water to drain rather than pool. But I can't say for sure because my back seat was removed a long time ago. A small protrusion on the front of the cover prevents water from entering the car when reversing. UPDATE December 2014: Rainwater pooling in the center of this cover is becoming a real problem. The lid stretches under the weight and more and more water collects until you swear the lid is about to crack. I had to put an old safety cone in the back of a truck that served as a pole for the tent to keep the water off the cover. I love the look and the fact that I can store things in the back and out of sight, but I wouldn't recommend this case unless you're willing to fabricate and install the poles to keep rainwater out.
