I plugged it in just long enough to make sure the tip was warm enough to do a few test cuts on the screen film - it works but I'm a little disappointed with the tip. I was expecting something more like a heated micro knife; it's more like a micro soldering tip, ie I doubt it would be possible to achieve precise/complex/small jumpers with this tool. Inexpensive, it's ideal for learning to cut stencils and creating stencils with large designs. And due to my limited use, it seems much easier to use than a knife for long and large repetitive cuts, so I've decided to keep it. But if you need higher quality stencils, upgrade to a hot-edged tool or a great hand knife - they're worth it.
