They don't transfer heat into my lizard cage like a regular incandescent bulb does, but use the same amount of electricity. When I used a 100 watt lightbulb the cage had a constant temperature of 90-97f while theirs stayed at around 80f. However, they have been working for several months now, while I used a new heating lamp almost every week.
