Review on Dorman 674 608 Integrated Catalytic Converter by Warren Hess

good and inexpensive

I recommend this spare part to everyone! My check engine light came on, so I took my car in for a check. I was told that the CO2 sensor should trigger the check engine light. I tried replacing the top sensor hoping that would fix the problem but that didn't help. I was told that if the problem wasn't with the sensor I would have to replace my old exhaust manifold mounted catalytic converter. I took it to the HU because it was on time and my old catalytic converter didn't pass the MOT. I looked for this part but they were very expensive until I bought a Dorman 674-608 exhaust manifold kit. (This includes the catalytic converter). The price was $285.41 which was the lowest price I found. I would give this five stars because my car passed MOT this morning, but I noticed two problems.1. The holes in the top cover of the heat shield did not line up, making installation difficult. (I pressed on the light metal until it bent to line up the holes.) 2. The bottom springs and studs don't match because either the springs are too long or the studs are too short. (I put in old springs that were shorter and they worked fine.) I've read bad reviews about this part and I have to say it's very quiet and there's no extra vibration at all. There are no problems with the design. Exactly the same as the old part. I am very happy with this part.
