This was my first invisible fence and it worked great for our 95 lb Akita. I installed certain sections of our 6ft fence with an invisible fence to prevent our dog from "fighting" (barking) with the neighboring dogs. It also helps keep our dog away from my wife's flower garden. I like the ability to choose the limit, more and less. The shock collar works about half the time on our Akita. She has thick fur and the probes often don't seem to touch her skin even when the collar is tight. On the other hand, the beep from the collar is enough for her to understand the border. She's smart and sensitive enough to learn quickly and we don't use high settings. Setting up is easy. It takes some time to get back home and put everything in order. I didn't have to do much digging as the wire was attached to our fence - on both the top and bottom rungs about 5 feet apart.
