Review on πŸš€ High-performance TERRAMASTER F4-210 4-Bay NAS: Optimal RAM, Quad Core Processor, and Diskless Design for Seamless Network Attached Storage and Personal Private Cloud by Mark Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A basic NAS for everyone

Frustrated with my Wi-Fi losing signal every 2 days when a USB stick is plugged in, I decided to go with this option after seeing that it received a full 5 stars and had the desire to set up a NAS for the home. Installation and setup were relatively easy; Install the hard drive, connect it to the network, add power, run the installer and you're done. Transferring files is easy; You can transfer data from your computer to the TNAS (via Terramaster OS or TOS) or if you want to transfer files on a USB hard drive or flash drive, you can use the USB 3.0 ports on the back of the unit to transfer files about TOS. Nothing is easier than getting out of the box. However, there are some things I would argue about.1. The program you are trying to install has not been verified by Microsoft. The app is in the same state if your phone/tablet warns you that the app is not verified in the Google App Store. This *should* not be a problem, just a word of caution to prospective buyers who are suspicious of what they install on their computers and devices.2. As convenient as it is, I really don't like the web interface for file transfer. As mentioned, you can also use a USB drive to transfer files, but personally I'd like to be able to drag and drop files from the Windows desktop without having to open a web browser. Again, I'm picky, but that's all preference. (I would really give it 4.5 stars for that alone.) The TOS interface looks and feels familiar to Linux users. Special TNAS/TOS applications are available for installation. I mainly use it as a media server for my home and since it's possible to access the NAS from my phone or tablet when I'm not at home. To be honest, for what it is, it works great. Easy enough to set up and use for any user. Worth buying if you just need a basic NAS for your home.
