Review on Wera 075622 Torque Reversible Ratchet by Jon Conner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Failed in less than 3 months / 2 uses. Untrustworthy

Simply put, this key cannot be trusted. I am a mechanic and decided to use this wrench on a car and was concerned that I was exceeding the torque setting. I secured the bolt and nut in a vise and tested the wrench and I was able to strip the threads of the 12 x 1.25 nut on the 60 pound setting before I heard a click. I lowered the setting to 40 and tried again with a different nut and bolt. The same story. Don't buy this tool if you need to rely on it. If I hadn't made fasteners in over ten years, I might not have realized something was wrong. I have been trying to contact Wera USA for 6 months with no success. I can't get an email or a callback and I'm nearing the end of my warranty. Not that it matters as the warranty isn't worth anything. This is the last Wera tool I will ever buy. It's a shame because I really like ratchets, screwdrivers and other hand tools. But if you're selling a precision tool like a torque wrench, you should take responsibility for it. Avoid this key.
