I'm fairly new to knitting - only been doing it a year - and I was at the point where I wanted to invest in a good set of needles. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews. I ended up buying two sets of Hiya Hiya needles. This set and the set with smaller needles. So far I'm happy with them. Usage: One of the biggest complaints I see about replacement needles has to do with the fibers getting caught in the seam where the needles meet the cord. To this day I haven't slipped a single snag - and I've knitted in a wide variety of materials - wool, cotton, silk, etc. I've also used thick socks. I also had no problems with spontaneous twisting of the needle while knitting. With circular needles from other brands, I sometimes had problems with the cord to hold the knit in place. where I have to (and I only buy quality brands, not stuff from a craft store). The Hiya needle cords actually have a swivel attachment and the cords are nice and soft (same soft as my Addi cords). I have no problems - even with very long lengths. Cost: The value can't be beat. I have Addi needles and I like them, but they are very expensive. Hiya needles are excellent quality and affordable. The money I save means I can buy more yarn to actually do something. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hiya Hiya if anyone asked me. I have no problems - even with very long lengths. Cost: The value can't be beat.
