The only thing the knitter has to pay attention to is the connection with the needle point. Be sure to tighten it well so it doesn't come loose. The supplied rubber tensioners work very well. Love the length, the cord is very flexible unlike other sets I've bought. The connection is VERY smooth and snag free, which is something I can't say about my KnitPick kits, both wooden and steel.
