Bought on June 1st and on June 17th it started to flicker. So far this seems to be a fairly common problem. Not what I expect from a top of the range product. Troubleshooting is ongoing, but it looks like there is no way to fix the issue through settings. Bad hardware problem. For those who calculate the frequency of OS updates when purchasing. From what I've read, 120Hz doesn't seem like an indicator of a strong site. In addition to the backlight/dead pixel lottery, you may need to enable the overclocking feature. Some don't have a problem. Others start lowering Hz while flickering until they are below 100 Hz. Get ready for several hours to tweak all the settings. Not many people like the factory install out of the box. Flicker overview. I spent a day with the X34P and wow. Just unbelievable. I used an Acer XB270HU bprz with an acceptable level of backlight blur. The X34 has almost nothing on top and just a few MMs in the corners at the very bottom with a subtle hint of light at the extreme edges. VERY SATISFIED with the display. Colors are good after spending some time tweaking everything. Not that hot out of the box, but plenty of videos and forum posts will have you up and running in no time. The knob should be standard for monitor settings. Very easy to navigate. ZERO black piano! Thanks, because I'm one of those people who leaves fingerprints everywhere. Going from 144Hz to 100-120Hz was no problem. The stand is good. Stood. I have my Revain Basics Vesa handy and a few turns of the set screw and it had no problem staying in place. I'm currently playing FC5 and it looks fantastic. Watching movies in full screen is just what you need. No problem with the monitor. Just a selection of the aspect. Most movies look fine, while some TV shows just don't like ultra-wide formats. My system set the sound to show when plugged in so it was an accidental sound test and they weren't that bad but I never intended to use them. brought madness? Well you got it covered. Both computers had no problem pressing this thing. Nothing escapes the EVGA 980TI HC, and gaming on the EVGA 1080TI HC outperforms it. My cat now has a mansion to play in. A 34 inch monitor means you get a HUGE box. Two from Amazon that I like. Other carriers have only sent boxes and such in the original packaging, so the extra protection is welcome.
