Once you've played games on the ultra-wide screen, you can't go back. I switched from a 144Hz TN panel to a 120Hz VA panel (this one) and have used many IPS and OLED units. If you're concerned that VA panels are inferior to IPS panels, you won't see any difference in this one at least. I've been looking for an ultra-wide monitor for a long time and was torn between this and the Alienware AW3418DW. Ultimately, it all came down to the aesthetic appearance of the panel. For those who don't know, both this monitor and the AW3418DW are LG panels. That means the inside of the screen is LG. When the monitor arrived I had no problems with this monitor when using the HDMI input, but with the DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor I had an instant signal loss on my old PC (ATI Radeon 9550- card) and brand new PC with NVidia RTX 2080 Super card. I love this monitor but it claims to be VESA compliant when it really isn't. It cannot be attached to a standard wall mount. There are many threads about this on the Acer board and elsewhere. I contacted Acer about this and they said "It's VESA compatible if you buy the mount yourself which makes it compatible." (Note: Acer doesn't make these mounts) My toaster is VESA compatible according to this definition . This monitor should not be sold as VESA compliant if it is not.
