Review on Acer Predator Z35P Bmiphz - ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ 3440x1440, 100Hz, Curved Monitor with HD Display by Ted Wilson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This monitor spoiled me in less than a day. I can no longer go back to standard widescreen games

Once you've played games on the ultra-wide screen, you can't go back. I switched from a 144Hz TN panel to a 120Hz VA panel (this one) and have used many IPS and OLED units. If you're concerned that VA panels are inferior to IPS panels, you won't see any difference in this one at least. OLED still beats it in terms of color quality, but OLED panels make this beast look cheap and generally don't deliver the refresh rates or response times that VAs do. This monster takes up a lot of table space to maintain its size. The pre-installed stand is really amazing. All metal, with pan, elevation and tilt, and because all that gaming stuff that people are a little tired of is well hidden. This should be common sense for anyone looking at a widescreen monitor, but it's worth mentioning nonetheless. The built-in speakers are surprisingly good, but not good enough for a cheap set of desktop speakers. Consider them an added bonus. I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this monitor. However, there are several problems. 1. The power connector and video connectors are annoying. Usually this is an irritation once, but an irritation nonetheless.2. Nobody can create an easy to navigate monitor menu? Calibrating this thing, like most monitors, takes a lot of effort due to the 6 poorly labeled buttons on the bottom right. I know this is an industry standard, but would you think that Acer is going to consider user experience in every way considering you're spending that much money. choose. AMD users are looking for one with Freesync. I can't go back to 16:9 anymore.
