This review is for the Z35P bmiphz 35 inch screen at 3440 x 1440p. short story. I love gaming, high refresh rates, gsync and finding the perfect monitor was my holy grail. That being said, here's a list of the screens I currently have and a little comparison. The Acer XB280HK bprz 28 is the first Gsync 4k screen I jumped on the Gsync wagon with. Used this for about 6 months, had a few issues with the screen just going black on full screen and just couldn't get past the TN panel and 60Hz. The color changes and washed out color prompted me to pass this on to my son. Acer Predator XB271HU bmiprz 27 - After a lot of research I finally settled on this bad boy and don't get me wrong, probably one of the best 27 inch monitors out there. Full IPS 2560 x 1440p, Gsync, 165Hz refresh rate. I personally had no problems with that. I used it for almost 2 years until my wife's screen went black and the opportunity arose. Acer Predator Z35P bmiphz 35inch - Now the main review of this monster and what made me buy this model. As well as advantages and disadvantages. Let's look at it from a player's point of view. Pros: - Resolution 3440x1440p? To verify. As close as possible to IPS with wide viewing angles? Check overclock can be up to 120Hz? check gsync? Check 35 inch curved beauty? CheckScreen arrived well packaged and undamaged. First I used a DP cable to connect it to my 1080, when I turned it on there was some bleeding in all 4 corners which is to be expected for a VA panel. The desktop looked a bit washed out compared to the IPS panel. Googled "Z35p Color Management Profile" and there is a thread on Reddit with a well calibrated profile. After applying the color profile and setting the gamma to gaming mode, the colors are as close to IPS as you can get. Enable overclocking and set the refresh rate to 120Hz in the "Games" section. Just to note, the built-in speakers are enough for watching movies with the family. However, nothing beats a high-quality headset. (Currently one of my favorites for long game Sennheiser 506080 GAME ONE) Cons: - Strobe lights in the top left and right corners. Not critical, but there if you pay attention. The bezel is slightly wider than modern screens. I actually never noticed. - No IPS panel. - Some games don't support 3440x1440p, or you have to fiddle with the settings to make it work properly. - Not really, but takes getting used to FOV 21:9 in some games can offer a different experience than 16:9. All in all, it's a solid screen. It's a pleasure to play on. His programming is fantastic. Other thoughts. The only way to get out of here is to upgrade to Nvidia BFGD.
