I used the dowel for the first time this weekend when I screwed it into the sand, at first I thought it wouldn't hold up so well, but that was a mistake, because after I had completely tied off the anchor and the boat went nowhere so well held in the sand. Even after I finished and took it off I figured I'd try to see if I almost completely screwed it out of the sand if I could get it out and no this anchor was hard even going sideways to the side, to loosen it in the sand, it was still planted, only when the screw almost broke the surface, then I was able to pry it out.
