Pretty baby blanket

I bought 2 skeins of this yarn thinking it would make 2 baby blankets. A blanket turned out, albeit a large one (40 by 65 inches). Yarn color sequence: yellow-blue-pink-green-pink-blue-yellow-white. I knitted this blanket with 1 single crochet and then single crochets to give it an open look. Photos are included to show the actual color scheme of the finished plaid as well as the size laid out on my dining table. 2 of these shots were taken with a flash and 2 with a bright overhead light. Let me start by saying that I can't knit and was taught to crochet by a friend of my mother's when I was about 13, so the only things I can knit are blankets and scarves. However, what I look for in a yarn, especially when making something for a baby, is machine washability and hypoallergenic properties, as well as a softness that is usually equated with acrylic. This yarn made a soft blanket that I think is convenient for mom to lay on the floor for the child to play on. I found a knot about 2/3 of the way through the first strand and 2 knots in the second strand so be aware that these are not continuous pieces of yarn if that is important to your needlework. I will probably buy this yarn again to knit a blanket for a friend's grandson this summer.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged
