I should have bought one like this 30 years ago. Not only does it keep the ball of yarn neatly in one place, but it's also a nice decorative element that I can leave in my living room. Contrary to what many reviewers have said about wooden yarn bowls, this ceramic bowl is completely smooth so yarn doesn't catch on anything. The size is perfect for one 100g skein or two 50g skeins. It probably wouldn't be big enough if you were doing complex multi-color work. Hey, good reason to buy another one! It is really nice.
