Review on πŸ”§ Efficient Organization: MAXXHAUL 70489 Adjustable Wall Mount Tire Rack by Kevin Pirlet

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent quality a bit flimsy

I bought this to store winter tires/rims for my Audi. It is rated at 300 pounds and accommodates 40-48 inch wide tires/wheels. Make sure your wheels are too wide or order two. Individual parts are very strong, made of good gauge steel. Left Right. Each of them consists of two metal cylinders that are inserted into each other. In fact, they are not attached in any way other than inserted. Because of this, they appear fragile. Tighten it when you turn it. This doesn't mean it will give under weight, it just gives the impression that the center of the bars are flexing and wobbling a bit. metal bars and secure with heavy duty machine screws on each side. I suggest using a drill as the screws are very long and take forever to tighten. Install this, the available width is not enough to mount 4 wheels. e They have 40+ inches. You don't want to mount it only to find out it only fits 3 wheels. This is not the product's fault, it is not measured before purchase. The product itself adjusts to the width of your spikes, so the metal rods in the middle just fit together and slide. To see if it would hold my wheels, I did some pull ups on the inner and outer bars. They bent a little, but in general the device did not move. I was tired after that, but I was like, hey, if he's holding me, he's holding the wheels. The handlebar has a pin that allows you to lock it up or down for security. Nice feature but I doubt I'll use it as the wheels will always be on it. Blocking seems stupid. I used bungee to hold the tires down, it's not necessary but why not? The only other detail is that the manual mentions where the rods (holes 1/2/3/4) need to be installed in pairs depending on the wheel. the size. That's a little different. You want to mount the bars so that the hoops rest on both bars and not on the wall behind them. If you follow the instructions, you will end up with the tires banging against the front bar and wall.
