Review on 🖍️ Faber-Castell Beeswax Crayons: 12 Vibrant Colors in a Sturdy Storage Case by Heather Shaw

Smell! Colours! What's not to like?! It actually seems legit when it comes to crayons. My research online led me to conclude that this is the closest thing to crayola flowers, and yet it will be beeswax crayons. As it turns out, many other purported beeswax crayons are actually a mixture of beeswax and paraffin (ie, a petroleum product). Stockmar, for example, does not consist of 100% beeswax, but contains this mixture. However, these Faber-Castells are beeswax from what I've found so far and know what beeswax smells and feels like. Caveat: I'm not saying it's 100% beeswax. They contain other ingredients, but the ingredients do not contain any petroleum-based products, according to Faber-Castell. Also, this is just my opinion having explored real beeswax products and several different crayons. However, several questions arose. Faber-Castell does not reveal what the pigments are made of, as this is confidential information and the exact origin of the beeswax is also uncertain. But as for their performance as toddler crayons, I give them a 2 plus. They are thick and triangular so they fit my son's hand and don't curl up. The colors are very vivid and the wax allows the pencil to glide across the paper. The only downside is that the paper sleeve slips off easily, and since it contains beeswax, the warmth of your hands makes it easier to peel off the paper. They also seem to break and crumble a little more than a Crayola, but as they are a chunky crayon and my son is 2 years old, that's not a big issue. I find the tote bag clunky and unnecessary, but my son loves picking up crayons over and over again. And the smell! That sweet, intoxicating smell of beeswax is just amazing! I just love color because of the smell!
