I used this DC injector/receiver pair to power my ATT fiber to catX module that was installed in my underground. I just unplugged the power adapter (not good for a wet ground - and an extension cord - ugg) and plugged it in. Power is now served in my garage where I have a modest little network shelf. Now I can power everything from the UPS and it's very easy to reset/reboot everything as needed. My network speed was limited to 50 x 50 ATT and I find this set of DC baluns basically allows 100Mbps as it halves the cabling used for DC. Four of the eight wires are now used for power transmission, which by definition disables the ability to receive gigaspeed. If I upgrade in the future, I'll just run another Cat5 or 6 lane to increase gigabit speed and leave it in place.
