Buy this metal kit instead and save yourself the plastic headache
I used to buy a plastic fuel filter changing tool for my 1996 Explorer. The plastic wasn't strong enough to push the fuel line through the filter. I ended up buying this tool box with an aluminum scissor cutting tool. They were perfect for removing the fuel lines from my 1996 Explorer. By pushing them straight in and using some back pressure to keep the fittings from protruding, I was able to easily slide the fuel lines. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter.
