I have natural hair with a curl variation of 4a to 4c. I'm 5ft 7in tall and when I'm straight my hair is just below my chest. A lot of hair! I stopped straightening my hair and wore protective hairstyles because I was just tired of spending up to 3 hours straightening. This straightening brush changed everything. I break up my hair 24 hours, wash and curl it the day before to stretch it, then use the brush to straighten it the next day. Now I just need an hour to get my hair perfectly straight. This brush will NOT straighten your heavily textured hair. But with it you can quickly create a spectacular image or prepare for twisting / twisting. The brush gives solid results, isn't damaged by heat (my curl pattern rebounded instantly; I've never set the brush above 390), and makes my life easier. A fifth star is missing for the following: Somewhat clunky design, but I can still deal with it. The temperature switches on the handle are easy to touch with your hand, especially when the brush is turned upside down. So be careful when using it. The handle can get very slippery and the design would be better if it was made of a different material for better grip. This pup will need time to cool down after use and an insulated bag or case would be beneficial. There is no loop at the base of the handle to hang the brush for storage. It turns off after an hour even if you're still using it, so you'll have to keep an eye on it. This seems like a lot of shortcomings, but these are points that the manufacturer can easily fix and that can be remedied with careful use. Despite those little "flaws" I LOVE THIS BRUSH! I've been looking and hoping for a styling tool like this for a very long time and I'm very glad I bought it.
