Review on πŸ”¬ Starboosa Microscope for Kids Beginners: Lab Compound Monocular Microscopes with Optical Glass Lenses & LED Illumination - 80X-1600X Power, Smartphone Adapter Included by Michael Bustamante

Revainrating 4 out of 5

We found the home swing leg to be the most interesting of the five included slides.

Excellent microscope for beginners and children. Not too difficult to use once you get comfortable with the different dials and combinations of settings (zoom, backlight, focus, etc.). Instructions are on a letter-size page. I perceive this as eye irritation, but it is probably typical for all microscopes. It came with a full suite of sample-gathering tools, except it didn't come with slides. Without slides, the rest of the tools are debatable. It also came with a cellphone attachment to take photos with your cellphone. Small suction cups are used to attach the phone, but they are not very reliable. My cell phone has been dropped quite often. The phone doesn't line up very well either, as it's slightly slanted. I found it easier to hold the phone with the thumbs and forefingers of both hands on the lens and rest my pinky fingers on the microscope to steady the phone. When you're done, use your voice command to take a photo to avoid even the slightest movement of your phone. It also comes with five slides - housefly stalk, epidermis bulb, cotton stalk, mature pinewood, dicot tree stalk. We thought the most interesting of the five slides was the flying leg which got everyone interested. I've attached photos of the house fly's leg at various magnifications taken on an Android phone while looking into the lens. The great thing is that you can use three AA batteries or the included power adapter for this. It's fairly light for a microscope and easy to carry.
