It takes some getting used to understanding the technique required to actually hook and unhook bikes to these hooks, but it's not difficult once you get it get the hang of it. Unless you have a very dirty mountain bike (and don't feel like washing the tires with a tube before hanging it up), tires are just useless. But I didn't buy it for that, so it's not really a hit with them. The only thing I blame them for is the lack of installation instructions. If you've done something with your own hands and have experience with drywall anchors, the installation is actually pretty trivial; However, having some instructions that at least tell you what size drill bit to use will make it easier for even a seasoned DIYer to install. Once fitted, they are durable and will keep your bikes secure; My gear has kept my bikes and my wife's bikes firmly in the garage all winter without the slightest hint of them moving or coming off the drywall. I was a little apprehensive about using drywall anchors instead of screwing directly into the studs, but no problem.
