I ended up reusing an old pin
The pin with socket had a slightly mottled finish (looks like small rust spots) but I used it anyway. The other pen didn't slide easily into the holder so I had to use the old one (which looked a bit discolored but worked better). On the other hand, which I replaced with the same pins a few weeks ago, I haven't had this problem.
