So here's the thing. Make sure you have an IR remote and not an RF remote and it will work. I had to google to find out what remote control I have. We have a Samsung TV with a Samsung soundbar, all connected to our Roku. I can use this wand. It took a while to pair, with LOTS of trial and error and LOTS of resets. I had to watch the posh company "programming your wand" over and over to make this thing work. Once connected you will feel this long pulse and the tip will turn orange and you can use it. After a while it turns off by itself and you have to press the button again to turn it on. I think to save battery power. To make it work you have to press the button once and you will feel it make a few short pulses and the tip will turn green before you can use it. Note: As soon as you take out the batteries, it will restart and you will have to repeat this process over and over again. Overall I like this remote, it looks good and does what it's supposed to. I just want him to be easier to work with. Basically I wanted it to be able to be tucked between the sun lounger cushions when my husband and I are watching TV (or Harry Potter) and he's busy playing video games and can't give me the remote.
