Review on πŸ”¨ Cemented Woodworking Made Easy: Meich Forstner Drilling Tool by Dan Barrett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good bit for drill or lathe.

These bits are extremely sharp and will cut flawlessly on my drill press or lathe chuck. The only problem I had was that the outer edges were a bit dull, but I sharpened them slightly with a diamond sharpener. Other Forstner bits with sawtooth, serrated, or straight edges all the way around may work well initially, but once they become dull, the sharpening process becomes much more difficult because you have multiple teeth or a round cutting edge that needs sharpening. With the Meichoon design, you only have the main cutting edge and two sharpening wings, which are simple processes. After 3 years of testing Forstner shots, they came as close as possible to perfection for my purposes. But obviously they may not be suitable for hand drills, so bear that in mind.

Pros
  • Forstner Bit
Cons
  • Not sure
