Beautiful cutting board for the kitchen and dining room

We bought several Japanese knives and needed a board that was compatible with hard steel. They use. We didn't want to maintain an endboard and rubber boards are too expensive at the moment. This board ticks all the boxes with a good balance of cost, quality and maintainability. Overall a good lightweight cutting board. good for maintaining a knife blade and for harder steels to avoid chipping. The board has a hinoki scent, so if you don't like that smell, you might not like this board. This is a very light board that is good as is my wife. I don't want to carry a heavy piece of wood into the kitchen. The large board was about the same size as the large plastic board we were using and large enough to replace our main all-purpose board. Regularly moisten the board before use and wash immediately afterwards. Not a deal breaker, just something you'd notice if you were more careful about these things. We are very happy with the board and will buy another if needed.
