We've had larger versions of dog hammocks, but now we need to fit two car seats. We liked it when we saw it but immediately realized the quality wasn't as good as the other versions we had, it didn't have an anchor that went into the seat to keep it in place to hold and it had no toughness underside. The lack of a grippy bottom and anchorage caused the hammock to shift under its weight, resulting in more needing to be adjusted. We also use a seat belt (we had one before) so he doesn't jump around, just change position to regain his balance. I suspect the poor quality and lack of slip protection, combined with the fact that he had to adjust his weight more frequently, caused the strap to snap completely. We literally used it 5 times...or less! He's only been with us for a few weeks. This is a medium sized dog for reference.
