This fuel pump fitted my 2005 (build date 02/2005) base model Mini Cooper R50 perfectly. The pump worked great but I damaged the gear unit during installation and as a result my fuel gauge showed inaccurate and erratic readings. I finally got the pump back out, found the damage and was able to replace the gear unit with that of the old pump and now it reads correctly.
- Always check and clean the fuel tank to avoid unnecessary returns
