Works well but previous version was better

I had the previous version but had to return it when the weld on the mount broke after a few weeks of use. This version was a little more expensive, but the top mount is different and kept pushing the cable out. It is very good at preventing the tailgate from falling and helping to close the tailgate. Driving me crazy, the cable seems to be working too.
