Every detail is useless

I used this item for the first time today and only had problems. The threaded bolts that secure the sliders are striped straight out of the box. The vertical ruler is offset by an eighth of an inch. For an accurate gauge, this is a big problem. Finally, the top bar doesn't slide across the vertical ruler as easily as others I've had. I literally had to force it. Totally useless, don't waste your money
