Tent for Tourists and Restless

An acquaintance who loves the great outdoors and whom I respect owned a Napier tent and sold me the entire tent when I bought it. When I decided to take the plunge into camping, I didn't even go shopping because I wanted to. This turned out to be a very good decision. Since I haven't camped I was dying to install it, so I went to a local park and did a test install. Reading guide, line by line, step by step. The color coding made the instructions easy to follow, the only confusing part was that the navy blue and purple colors are very similar. It's pretty easy to figure out your mistake though, since they're completely different sizes. Oh, also the confusing note at the top of the guide that suggests you do steps 1-3 last for the sake of simplicity? I thought if they were supposed to be done last, why did you do them in steps 1-3? Being kind of a stickler for things, I made them first since they were listed first. NOTE TO NEPIE: If you'd like me to do these steps last, please renumber your instructions. After making sure I could pitch the tent, I put it to the test. My first 3 day trip! It's a big weekend, packing a truck for my first camping adventure. Setting up the tent was even easier than the first time. I was pleased! The first day ended with heavy rain and strong winds, but the tent stayed in place and it was nice and dry inside. I half-expected that at least the awning would break in the storm, but it held up. The weather was better for the rest of the weekend. After passing my first test, this non-camper is now a camper! I'm already planning my next trip! I like that the assembly instructions are sewn into the case so I can't lose them. I like the color coded supports. I like that the tent is light enough that I can set it up myself, yet heavy enough to protect it from strong winds and rain. I love the idea of sleeping in nature in nature and still not getting off the ground. I'm 65 years old and just discovered that I love camping! Thank you Napier!
