ubiquti turned their backs on enthusiasts and hobbyists, destroying their entire product line

Starting with the AC radio series and gradually returning to older devices, the somewhat ubiquitous proliferation made it clear that that's all they care about about their small customers and that they don't care about hobbyist or enthusiast end users. By removing support for standard 802.11 connections and requiring both host and client devices to use the Air Max, they've effectively lobotomized their entire line and rendered them unusable for most people who kept them afloat in the beginning .
