This is the fitting for connecting the heater core hose to the intake manifold on a 2001 Ford Windstar. I had a leak at the junction. I cut off the old hose as close to the old connector as possible. I couldn't pull the old connector off, so I carefully "broke" the ears holding it and was able to pull it off. You will need a hose clamp to connect the hose to the new connector. Then slide the new fitting onto the 3/4 inch metal pipe coming out of the intake manifold. Make sure you clean the 3/4" hose and remove the old o-rings if necessary (there are 2 of them) before installing the new plug. The last little bit takes some effort before it slides completely and you hear a "click" that it's secure. A quick drive around the area revealed no leaks. I removed the "hose cuff" between the air filter housing and the air intake on the manifold to get better access to the connection (loosen the 2 hose clamps and pull the vacuum hose out to the rear. Don't forget to push the vacuum hose back into the hose when reinstalling trunk). When I cut the hose off at the junction, I placed a plastic cup under the cut to catch as much antifreeze as possible. About 16 ounces. came out, which I put back into the reservoir at the end of the project (minus a bit that ended up on the bottom).
