The shape of these protectors stays on my dining chair legs. I had to put a drop of glue on the mug to help with adhesion. My wooden floors are quite, maybe very rough. Ordinary flat pads came off immediately. They eventually came loose too so I put a drop of Elmer's Glue in the center of the cup and now it stays in place. easily slip out, the floor is still protected! Also, they have a plastic backing in the cup which seems to make them more durable and when worn the wooden chair doesn't rest directly on the ground, the plastic insert isn't stiff like wood when sliding on wood. It makes a different sound and you know it's time to change the pad to warn of car brake wear. I keep them at home in a warehouse.
