Review on Toyo Proxes T1-R 245/45 R18 96Y summer by Wiktor Grzankowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I would definitely recommend the purchase, I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

Rolled in size 225/55 R17 on Subaru Forester SH atmosphere. The puddles p amazingly: one half of the wheels was driving on asphalt, and the other half was driving on a deep puddle, the speed was 80 km / h, the waves were as high as a 2-story house, the electronics did not allow to go faster. At speeds up to 60 it seems that in the rain it sticks to the pavement better than in hot weather on dry pavement. The sidewalls are also pleasing: it was the case, I walked a little along a torn curb at a speed of 60 km / h, and there were no side cuts . But for hot asphalt, perhaps, I would like a better grip: in 90-degree turns at a speed of 60 km / h squeals leaves black marks. However, on a regular Geolandar, the car felt front-wheel drive - in the corners it carried out the . With Toyo T1-R, this is no longer the case, the behavior has changed to all-wheel drive, all wheels began to drag. Rubber for 2 seasons (or 20k km), no more: wears off before our eyes, loses properties, hernias appear. It behaved well in the spring at +2: thanks to its softness, it more or less tolerably kept the road, on hard rubber at such speeds I would simply fly off the road. In the first kilometers it doesn’t hold and buzzes like hell, but then with every thousand it gets better and better . In warm weather, it behaves like a summer only at + 17 °, before that the grip was so-so. In the rain keeps excellent in any weather. In general, rubber is excellent, but not for everyone. I am now looking at other options with similar properties, but better grip on asphalt.

Pros
  • Good behavior on dry and wet pavement, soft, very strong sidewalls, good grip, no aquaplaning,
Cons
  • Erased before our eyes, noisy, rut sensitive, specific weather requirements
