Review on Staedtler STD899SM5V Calligraphy Set by Carla Anderson

I'm mediocre at calligraphy and this set didn't live up to my expectations. I had to clear out the whole set because it was poorly cleaned and the ink in it had dried up. Several "new" cartridges were opened and used, so they could not be used as they had dried out. All the complexities aside, I think the "thin" pen was my favorite and wrote nicely and easily (when the ink flowed, which was for a short time. Maybe 3 words it flowed for?). If you are new to calligraphy THIS IS NOT SUITABLE. Feathers easily get dirty with paper and somehow even with parchment! The flow is not good at all. I have to run them under water the whole time to get the ink flowing properly. If you're looking to buy a calligraphy pen, buy Noodler's Flex Pen first. You won't be as disappointed with this set as I was.
