Review on πŸ“· Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens with Auto Focus: Perfect for Nikon DSLR Cameras by Bhavin Kalant ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, did not expect at all for the price.

I bought it as the first glass for a full frame (D700). The lens pleased with the quality: the picture, all-weather capability, focusing speed, low weight and size - there were no analogues for the amount that it cost (lucky, I bought it at almost the purchase price). Quite often it smears, sometimes it seems even for no obvious reason on contrasting objects, and sometimes it pleases with a sharp shot "offhand". After using 85 1,4D and 85 1,8G, I was convinced that the halftone has a pleasant portrait softness, that is, the picture is sharp, but does not hurt the eyes like 85 1,8 on open ones, Yellowness, as many write, was not noticed It was. Cons, I think, are conditional for glass of this cost. HA are corrected in the DxO Optics editor, which makes it effortless, and barrel and vignette are also removed with ease. This is exactly the lens that you can put on the carcass when walking with friends, with children and not think about 35.85 or zoom in your bag / backpack, while not tearing your back and enjoying the pictures.

Pros
  • -universal - sharp on the open -holds counter well - nice bokeh - light weight
Cons
  • -HA yes, but often depends on shooting conditions -pronounced barrel effect, if you shoot portraits close (but easily eliminated in the editor) - not always sure focus.
