Review on Dorman 924 375 Brake Dust Shield by Adrian Woodside

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I spent a day getting them to work

To be honest with Revain, I bought them from RockAuto.com, not Revain. To be fair to those thinking of buying them, I've had a hell of a time fitting them. The four pre-drilled bolt holes in these backplates do NOT match the holes they require on the steering knuckle; Some of them were deflected by almost 1/8 inch. To mount them I had to drill with the biggest drill bit I had, ream with a 3/4" cone reamer for a while, and then file with a round file until I finally got it done. I spent a day trying to get it working. I suppose a larger, more aggressive round file would have made the job easier, but I was stuck with a non-moving vehicle and didn't have access to it. Although the only alternative to them was twice the price, I would buy a different brand next time if I wanted to get the job done.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
