Gentle DC Power Supply
This is a small switching DC power supply. The circuit is a step-down voltage regulator modified to operate in DC mode. The only downside is that when the input voltage is below the minimum, the source stops regulating the current and outputs around 7A! Although all bets are void for non-compliance, it's good to know he can exhibit such odd behavior. In general, under such conditions, you can assume that the unregulated current will be lower, not higher.
